Men’s Fashion Trends and Styles for 2019

It’s almost the end of the first month of 2019 and this article pieces together this year’s fashion trends. While 2018 was the year of soft textures, vintage suits, vertical stripes, turtlenecks, and many checkered clothing, 2019 is the year for more earth colours and revival of previous fashion trends with a modern outlook.

Here is a look at some of the latest fashion trends in men’s clothing that are going to be big. Hopefully, it’s not too late to reinvent your style for this year.

Tailored suits are making a comeback

Say goodbye to those readymades and ‘hello’ to your tailor. 2019 is the year that brings back handmade tailored suits. Well, the benefits of well-fitted suits are endless. With tailored suits you can choose and decide everything from the fabric, cut, colour even right down to the style. You can also opt for a more relaxed look, as compared to slim fitted suits as people are opting for wide legged trousers. If you are looking for a #TailorFit experience, then you could try our #TailorFit services today. Visit our store to know more: http://bit.ly/Siyarams_Store

  1.   Earth Tones

The colour palette for this year is more grounded in light and earthy colour tones. Look at more browns, khakis, greens and even beige with the occasional greys. When choosing your outfit, keep in mind that the tonal colours shouldn’t be more than 3 items. This is the time to try out the basic and smart casual look, you can always add a little bit of colour to it by wearing some trendy accessories.

  1.   Double–breasted suits

Since Tailored suits are making a comeback, investing in double-breasted suits will not be a bad option. Tailoring is a major key when getting yourself a suit, but you needn’t worry about that now, do you? (For a customizable suit you can check out our #TailorFit services here: http://bit.ly/Siyarams_Store)  You can either choose to stick to the traditional tweed and pinstriped patterned, or you could opt for a more modern and refined look. For a more modern approach, look at bold coloured suits that can be used for a casual as well as for a smart business look. Just keep in mind that the remainder of your outfit should compliment your suit, not contrast it.

  1.  Corduroy is back

While a pair of denim is a must for every wardrobe, must we suggest another necessity? Corduroys, the earlier cords were baggy and loose-fitting the modern pair now is more altered to current trends. The great thing about cords is that it works perfectly for a casual as well as formal events, provided you get the outfit right.  Keep in mind that the trousers aren’t baggy and that your shirt should share the same fabric thickness. Don’t hide behind a safe black pair, try a blue or even grey pair. Try experimenting with a coloured corduroy suit if you are up for it.

  1. Cropped trousers

According to Pinterest fashion predictions of the year, their key search for men’s cropped trousers increased by 671 percent. Cropped trousers are a great way to show off your colourful socks and ankles. One of the modern day necessity, you can wear them to casual as well as formal events, be it summer or winter. The length of the trouser is of uttermost importance, too long and it will look like a pair of regular pants, too short and it will look as if you outgrew them. Cropped trousers should end just above the ankle.

  1. Check Mate

Checks will always be an all-time necessity in a man’s wardrobe. While it’s not that difficult to choose from the different types of checkered clothing available, getting the right size makes all the difference to your outfit. Right from windowpane suits to gingham print or a Prince of Wales pattern, checkered clothing is slowly becoming a favourite trend. To prevent your outfit from looking too checkered, keep the larger checks for your outerwear; trousers and jackets and the smaller prints for your shirts and ties.

  1. Mismatched Prints

If we would have told about this style a few years ago, we are definitely sure that you would disregard it. But it’s 2019 and though some of you might dread it, the mix matching of prints is officially a trend that is here to stay. So if you enthusiastic to try this trend out, keep in mind which patterns are okay to throw in together.

When mixing the same patterns, a variation of size, colour and texture should be your golden rule. For example, you could wear a thicker vertical stripe shirt under a pinstripe suit. Or follow the rule of checks that we spoke about in the previous paragraph.

On the other hand, if you are considering mixing multiple patterns within the same outfit layering will be the best way to do it.

Maintaining a consistent palette is very important, so if you are sticking to tonal colours, make sure that all the pieces of your outfit match the same tone.

5 Ways To Reinvent Your Style

2018 is beginning to set in and with it, has come many fashion trends for you to look out for. Be it the bold coloured shoes or the fashion tips on dressing the modern man or the experiments with colours, if there is one thing that we know is that the key to dressing the modern man is to maintain a smart, streamlined look. So here are 5 tips that you could use if you are willing to go the distance and reinvent your style for 2018.

1. Change your Office Wear
Bored of the everyday monotony of the same old formal wear? It is very rare that you would find offices that do not require their employees to follow a dress code. For most men working in the country, a crisp formal shirt and pants are a must-have. And even though you can’t show up to work dressed in shorts and wearing whatever you want, you can always accessorize your look and amp up your formal wear to suit your comfort and style. Start with incorporating patterns in your shirts, like stripes or checks.
If smart casuals are allowed, try the combination of smart separates, i.e a T-shirt paired with a suit or a smart jacket paired with a pair of well-fitted chinos or sleek leather shoes will also do the trick. For the weekend you can swap your formal trousers for a nice pair of jeans (ideally a straight leg or a tapered fit); avoid torn or baggy jeans. Keep things simple by sticking to shades of blue and black.

2 Grooming

You might deny this but a man is judged instantly on the way he has dressed himself. That is why being well-groomed is very important especially when going to work. Take care of your skin by applying moisturizer and sunscreen before stepping outside.

Your beard and hair should be trimmed and combed. 2018 has brought on a whole new level on hairstyles for the modern man to support. The textured crop is one of the coolest looks and haircuts for guys this year. Wear it short or long, with or without bangs and textured or messy.

Loose Pompadour

Another men’s hairstyle that is huge this year is the taper haircut. This scissor cut style is a classic look that can be worn short or medium length. Longer styles are also popular this year, for every hair type from straight to curly, like the Loose Pompadour, Textured Quiff Haircut, Side Part Combover or the Slicked Back style. These looks are bold, creative and will make people look twice.

Side Part Combover

Body odour is a big thing. No one wants to be standing or sitting next to someone who smells bad. Apply a cologne or a good body spray and don’t forget to have a bath after coming back from the gym or any physical activity.

3 Exercise

Take some time out from your schedule and get into shape. You don’t necessarily have to join a gym or start a vigorous workout. Taking a walk twice a day or even an early morning run will help you burn some calories and clear your mind. Zumba is an upcoming trend as a substitute for those who prefer a more fun approach for workouts. Zumba allows you to sweat it out through dance moves. You can also try Yoga if you are looking for a less exertive physical activity.

4 Tailored Clothing

Finding the perfect fit is very important as the garment will follow the contour of your body perfectly. Tailored clothing gaining prominence as everyone is looking to customise their clothes to their likes and designs.

There is nothing wrong with readymade wear when you are looking for immediate options. However, there is a luxurious feel to getting yourself a suit stitched just for you. Be it the perfect fit or the fact that a tailored suit will always highlight your personal style and physique. We know that finding a good tailor that understands your needs and preferences and the current trends may take some time, so skip the wait and experience our Tailor Fit services here: http://bit.ly/Siyarams_Store

Pro Tip: Did you know that tailor-fitted clothes last longer than readymade wear as you can choose the quality of the material!

5 Accessories

While women have a variety to choose from, men have very few accessories that they can use. Accessorise your outfit with these essential add-ons.

A Watch does more than just tell time, it has the ability to add a little sophistication and class to your look. Opt for a leather strap watch as it is bound to match most of your outfits.

When buying Belts, remember, the bigger the belt buckle the less formal it is. Dress belts typically have very small, flat belt buckles. Almost all dress belts will have either a gold-colored or silver-colored finish.

One rule that should stay with you in dress or casual wear: brown leather shoes go with a brown leather belt, and black with black. When pairing other accessories make sure that all the elements are from the same colour family.

Coming to Ties, the more you have the merrier as you can always wear the same suit but pair it with a different tie. When buying ties, make sure the fabric is soft: silk is the fabric of choice when it comes to men’s neckties as they are resistant to wrinkles and does not attract dirt because of its smooth finish. Make sure your tie is of proportionate length which may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer but most ‘regular’ ties are around 57″-58″, while “extra-long” or “tall” sizes are closer to 62″-64″.

Grooming tips for business travelers in monsoon

While grooming to your finest is a prerequisite for any business traveller, during the monsoon, you must take your grooming tips up a notch to tackle the humid weather and the odd splash of rain here and there. If you think you are doing your best, think again! We have a few tips that will help take your grooming game to the next level.

Hair Care

Contrary to popular belief that one can skip a hair wash during the monsoon, it is more important to wash your hair at least every alternate day if not everyday. This will ensure that your hair is free from dust and grime. The important thing here is to use a mild shampoo and conditioner as they will help you to retain the normal texture of your hair. Keep hair products like hair wax and gel at bay as they aren’t the most monsoon friendly products. Keeping a short hairstyle that doesn’t need a lot of maintenance will help ensure that your hair is at its finest best.
If you do grow a beard, ensure that it is well maintained and trimmed at regular intervals.

Nails
Keeping your nails well cut and cleaning them from time to time is of the utmost importance especially when it’s open season for all the bacteria and germs out there. There is no shame or anything feminine about a man getting a manicure/pedicure. A manicure/pedicure will ensure that your nails are clean and monsoon ready.

Deodorant
We can’t stress on this enough! Everyone must invest in a deodorant that suits their body and at the same time helps keep the perspiration away. With the humidity in the air on the rise, it becomes ever so important to invest in a deodorant that keeps away body odour.
Because let’s face it, no one points out if someone isn’t smelling great but if you aren’t, that is noticed quicker. So save yourself from the embarrassment of body odour and keep a deodorant handy with you at all times.
Accessories
While we may all awe at the marvel of leather goods and its finish, the rains do not take kindly to leather and leather products. A few splashes and your beloved leather bag’s lustre will start to fade, the material will stretch out and will eventually give way. No one would like to see you carrying around a worn out leather bag on your business trip.
It is best if you keep your leather items stored away safely and opt for substitutes like TPU leather (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) or Faux leather. Materials like TPU leather and Faux leather give your accessories the look and feel of leather but these do not give way as easily as leather and can handle a few splashes. Again, that does not mean that these materials are water resistant. Care must still be taken to ensure they do not get wet in the rains.

Shoes
Like we mentioned above, keep your leather items locked away and that includes your shoes. Opt for TPU leather shoes during the monsoon and ensure you have the ever classy formal look when you travel. The high level of humidity in the air coupled with the splashes that your shoes undergo might make your shoes smell unpleasant. But don’t worry, we have a simple hack for you! Carry around spare unused tea bags and keep one in every shoe overnight every time you feel there might be unpleasant odours emanating from your shoes. This trick isn’t just limited to your formal shoes and works for your sneakers and running shoes too!

So these were a few tips that will ensure that your grooming does not take a hit this monsoon. A compromise on grooming is a big no-no, all it requires is a little bit of thought and voila! you’re all ready to take your grooming to the next level. And always remember- “Function over Fashion.”
So feel free to add grooming tips that you have created on your own for the monsoons.

Get The Perfect Sleeve Roll – Men’s Style Guide

There’s something about a guy rolling up his sleeves that raises questions. Is he going for a fight? Is he getting to work? More often than not this is because of the weather conditions we have here in India and he is looking to go for a smart, yet casual look.

With the temperatures hitting the roof, a sleeve roll can come to your rescue. The sleeve roll has almost become a style statement. So here are a few ways that will help you keep cool in this blazing heat, without compromising on style.

The Aifa Roll

The AIFA Roll
While many people may not have heard of this style of roll, it is one of the most casual roll up styles there is. It is simple and appealing to the eyes.
It is a two-step fold
1)    The first fold about the width of the cuff.
2)    The second fold of similar width.
Avoid straightening the fold as this roll gives you a casual look.

High rollerThe High Roller
If you have a tattoo or big biceps, this is the sleeve roll up style for you.
This style involves rolling up your sleeves above your elbow. The first fold should be about the width of the cuff and the following rolls of similar width.
Flatten out the sleeve for that smart look. The high roll sleeve is best suited for semi-casual or casual shirts.

The Basic RollThe Basic Roll
As the name suggests, this is a basic roll. Although it is can be a little time consuming to roll and unroll the sleeves, it is one of the most commonly preferred style when it comes to rolling the sleeves.
Use the cuff width as a reference point and roll the sleeves up. Repeat the steps and roll until you reach the elbow.
The basic sleeve roll is usually preferred when the sleeves are wider than the arms.
Some shirts also have a thin fabric on the inside of the sleeve to secure a basic roll.

The Master rollThe Master Roll
The master roll is one of the more modern methods to roll up your sleeves. Shirts nowadays come with a contrasting color or design under the cuff. These are visible only if you use the master roll.
Although the master roll may seem complicated, be rest assured it isn’t.
The master roll involves rolling up the sleeve about two times the width of the cuff. Straighten out and smoothen the fold and then roll the sleeve from the bottom once again, leaving only a small part of the cuff exposed.
The master roll is preferred as it is easy to undo and stays in place even after a long day filled with activities.
The Band Roll

The Band Roll
The band roll or also known as the garter roll is a roll that uses a sleeve band to keep the sleeve in place. A sleeve garter will make sleeve rolling easier while giving you the retro look. Secure the top of the sleeve with a sleeve garter, then pull up the sleeve a few inches and hide the sleeve band under the shirt’s folds.

So here were a few ways to roll up your sleeves and give your outfit a different dimension. Feel free to experiment with the aforementioned techniques and mix it up to up your fashion game!
