New year looks for Men | Siyaram

The winters are here and so are the many parties and events that you need to dress up for. However, we’re not talking about just any event, we’re talking about the main event of the season, the night of the year – New Year’s Eve. The 31st of December is all about invites to black-tie events, swaying to good music, and welcoming the new year with a stylish bang.

A New Year’s Eve party is not just any party. It is a party to celebrate the year you’ve had. It is a party to celebrate the year you’re going to have. It is a way to say goodbye to the old memories and to say hello to the new memories you’re about to make, and you don’t want to make any new memories unless you’re stylish. Now, if your invite specifies it’s a black-tie event, it’s quite obvious that you have to dress your best, but if it is an all-inclusive event, you could go either way (though, we believe that it’s always best to dress better than expected). In case of the latter, here are a few outfit suggestions if you want to change things up a bit.

Dark and Dapper – Formal wear

For a black-tie event, a classic, well-tailored black suit is the key. The three-piece suit is one of the best looks a man can pull off. It screams class and yet it can be worn to a party (even if your invite doesn’t say it’s a black-tie event). However, fit is key. Time and again we’ve said that an ill-fitting suit will break a man and it will happen! If you’re wearing a bulky suit that is a size bigger or a size smaller, it is going to ruin your image and your night. Coming back to the three piece suit, this attire means business, the business of party! But seriously, this suit is very formal, so be sure to wear it at a formal party.

Funkily Formal – Semi formal wear

For a less formal party, try a single-breasted suit. It will announce your arrival just the same, only it’ll add an element of funk to it and will showcase that you’ve arrived to party your stylish backside off. The best part about it is that you can take it off, and still look fabulous underneath. If the night gets too cold, you can always take if off and offer a lady the cover without worrying about sporting an incomplete look.

Informal Thereafter – Casual Wear

Finally, we come to informal house parties and after parties. If you don’t plan on attending any formal event, just go ahead and either pick up a sports jacket over a well-fitting shirt, or a black shirt paired with a classy scarf – it gives you a great informal look and still keeps you stylish while covered.

As far as accessories are concerned, it’s the one night bling that will be acceptable. So, get those cufflinks and watches out. Make sure your belt matches your shoes and that they’re polished.
