The Siyaram Cup Tournament for blind cricketers in the 12th grade was a huge success at Marine Drive in Mumbai. Siyaram Silk Mills Limited organized it in collaboration with the Blind Welfare Organization. This event for visually impaired individuals ran from January 13th to 15th, 2026, in Mumbai. The tournament aimed to provide a strong platform for blind cricketers to boost their confidence.

In an interview with Republic Bharat, Ramesh Poddar, the Chairman and Managing Director of Siyaram Group, said, “Cricket is a popular game in India, and everyone gives it great recognition. But unfortunately, the National Cricket Tournament for the Blind has not received enough recognition — that’s why we have been trying to make it more prominent through these matches”. Poddar urged various media houses, corporates, and especially the BCCI to give it more prominence. Further adding, he said, “Even though these kids can’t see up close, their distant vision is quite remarkable. Our main request is to give them a bit more importance and for everyone to support them more”.
